Our modern history started when a group of players got together to form an expat team in Shanghai, over the years the club investigated it's history all the way back to 1881.

June 2013 we add SRFC to the title
June 2013 saw the hairy Crabs adopt officially the SRFC name and brand with an overwhelming vote of the SRFC and Hairy Crabs members. The club maintains its history and heritage and still uses the club formal wear at its functions concentrating more on the social side. The club has gone from strength to strength even weathering the storm around the facility lease transfer winning the all china cup every time they have entered.
